From diagnosis through treatment
and beyond....I hope my journaling will be
helpful, inspirational, and motivational to you.
It's not been an easy journey, but one that has
enlightened me in many ways.

Dear Family and Friends,
Today marks a little over a year in which I've
been cancer free! My digital mammogram went well
today. I really like the atmosphere and
personable care I received at our Bolingbrook
Adventist Hospital. They have a state of the art
Imaging center for women. In a little over an
hour, I'd been squished and squashed and
pronounced A-OK!
I can't encourage women
enough to be sure to schedule your yearly
DIGITAL MAMMOGRAM and to monitor any breast
changes that may occur. Digital Mammograms are
the latest and have the best resolution possible
when compared with the older mammogram machines.
There's also 25% less radiation involved and
that's a good thing.
Later this month I head
back to my surgeon for a follow up to the
mammogram. This should move me to a yearly
follow up with her! Micro-calcifications are
still being monitored, but all is well.
I've had some difficulty
getting a good night's sleep over the past month
or so. I think, perhaps, a little anxiety over
this latest test may have been the cause.
However, I know that some of the medications I
have to take can cause insomnia. I have to talk
to my doctors about this.
I'm thrilled with my
progress and thank you all for your kind notes
and supportive prayers.
